Florence Ditchkus, 97 of Island Heights, passed away Thursday, March 1, 2012. She worked as a receptionist for her son, Dr. William Ditchkus of Toms River for several years before retiring. Florence had served in the Women's Army Auxiliary Corps during World War II. She was a communicant at St. Joseph's Catholic Church. Born and raised in Newark, Florence lived most of her life in Island Heights. She was predeceased by her beloved husband Joseph and a son Dr. James K. Ditchkus.
Surviving are two sons, Dr. William Ditchkus of Toms River and Stephen J. Ditchkus of Biloxi, MS; three grandchildren and 5 great grandchildren.
Friends are invited to attend a memorial mass at 8:00am, Saturday, March 10, 2012 at St. Catherine of Siena Catholic Church, 50 'E' Street, Seaside Park, NJ.
