Dr. James A. Rogers, Sr., 82 of Branford, FL, formerly of Toms River and Lakewood, was called home on Monday, October 8, 2012. Jim was born and raised in Spring Lake and graduated from Manasquan High School. He proudly served in the US Army during the Korean War. He graduated from Memorial Chiropractic College in Toronto, Canada and maintained a practice in Bradley Beach, Avon and Wall Township. Jim was a member of the New Jersey State Chiropractic Society; he served on the Avon By The Sea Board of Commissioners; and was chairman of the Board of Education of Riverview Christian Academy in Shark River Hills. He attended the 5th Avenue Chapel in Belmar as a young man and was an active member there for 67 years. After retiring, and moving to Toms River he attended the First Baptist Church of Toms River and worked with his son at Kedz Funeral Home before moving to Branford.
He is survived by his wife of 60 years, Barbara Bennett Rogers; three children, James Rogers, Jr and his wife Marilou of Toms River, Sharon Kramme and her husband Marvin of Branford, FL, Kevin Rogers and his wife Catherine of Nazareth, PA; 11 Grandchildren and 4 great grandchildren.
Visitation will be held Saturday from 6 to 9 pm at Kedz Funeral Home, 1123 Hooper Ave., Toms River. Interment services will be private.
