Obituary of Thomas J. Carroll

Thomas Joseph Carroll of Lakewood, N.J. passed away peacefully on November 19. 2020. He was 82 years old. Born in Scranton, P.A. to the late Joseph and Mary Carroll, he lived most of his life in the New York metropolitan area. He served in the U.S. Navy and had a long career with De Camp Bus Company, and later in life he drove for EAC Senior Center and Meals on Wheels in Hempstead L.I., where he enjoyed helping his elderly passengers and making them all smile. Tom enjoyed spending time with his family, writing short stories, singing with the Leisure Village East Choristers and loved cinema. He leaves behind his wife of 30 years, Ruth Wachter-Carroll, and his sister Noreen Carroll of Scranton P.A. His children, Thomas Carroll, Mary Beth Del Grosso and her husband Anthony, Jacqueline Sheehy and her husband Mark, and his stepson Toby Wachter of C.A. Additionally, he was a beloved grandfather to Nicholas and his wife Sarah, Anthony, Jessica, Joseph, Caroline, Sean, Ryan and Graffin. In lieu of flowers, any donations to the ASPCA would be greatly appreciated. A memorial service to celebrate Tom's life will be announced at a later date.
