Obituary of Anna Marie Moroney

Anna Marie Moroney, 71 of Lakewood, passed away peacefully at home, on Sunday, November 18, 2012. She was an Administrative Director at Logan Manor Care Center in Whiting for many years. Most recently she had returned to work at Walmart, in Brick , where she worked and had many friends until her second retirement. Born in Newark on January 21, 1941, Anna Marie lived in Keansburg, Toms River and Lakehurst before moving to Lakewood 12 years ago. She was predeceased by her parents Anthony, 1995 and Philomena Piotti Surace, 2000, as well as her brother Demetrio "Butch" Surace in 1995. Anna Marie loved being a mother and nurturing her family. She adored, and was adored by, her grandchildren, encouraging them in all their endeavors. Anna Marie frequently attended their activities, always encouraging them and displaying an enthusiasm and sense of pride as only a grandmother can. She enjoyed traveling with friends and was a life long NY Mets fan, which in and of itself exemplifies her deep sense of devotion and loyalty. Surviving are her children, Michael Moroney and his wife Barbara, of Califon, NJ, and Susan Moroney-Martin and her husband Stephen of Toms River; as well as five grandchildren, Colin and Meaghan Martin, and Murphy, Maggie and Griffin Moroney. Visitation will be held Friday from 2 to 4 & 7 to 9 pm at Kedz Funeral Home, 1123 Hooper Avenue, Toms River. A gathering of family and friends will be held at Christopher's Pub in the Howard Johnsons, located at 955 Hooper Avenue from 4 to 7. A prayer service will be offered Friday at 8:30pm.
