Marlene Heerwagen-Pyburn, 78, of Toms River, passed away Friday, June 11, 2021. Marlene worked as an office manager at St. Luke’s Roosevelt Hospital in New York City and retired in 1995 after 25 years of service. She was known for her love of shopping and collecting Christmas “things”. Marlene was born in Cabo Rojo, Puerto Rico. At the age of 5, her family moved and lived Brooklyn and Manhattan, NY. She later lived in Eatontown and Bergen County before retiring to Toms River in 1995. Marlene was predeceased by her husband William Pyburn, Sr., her brother, Felix Bobe, sister-in-law Ann Bobe and brother-in-law James Iacobelli. Marlene is survived by her children, Jill Bound and her husband Donald, William Pyburn, Jr. and his wife Patty, Jacalyn Bermudez and her husband Frank, Richard Pyburn and his wife Shirley, and Maryellen DiPietra and her husband Richard; grandchildren, Robert Pandora and Steven Latulippe, Connor and Lexie Pyburn, Joe, Chrissy, Keri, and Drew Bermudez, Ricky and Ryan Pyburn, and Nick DiPietra; sister, Mirna Iacobelli; five nieces and nephews, Michael Iacobelli, Jennifer Iacobelli, Andrew Bobe, Cyndi Baur, Matthew Bobe and their families. Visitation will be held at Kedz Funeral Home, 1123 Hooper Ave., Toms River, on Thursday, June 17, 2021 from 10:00 to 12:00. A funeral service will follow, 12:30 pm at St. Joseph Cemetery, 56 Cedar Grove Road, Toms River.
