Obituary of Robert D. Lewis

It is with great sadness that the family of Robert David Lewis known as “Bob” passed on Sunday July 25, 2021 at the age of 81. He was born on August 14,1939 in Basking Ridge, NJ; the son of Arthur Thomas Lewis II and Miriam Abby Thatcher Lewis. Bob was employed by American Supply Company in Toms River, NJ for 25 years until his retirement. Bob enjoyed family and was a true gentleman. He enjoyed spending his free time working on his automobiles. Bob was an avid animal lover, known especially for the extraordinary care of his dogs. Mr. Lewis is survived by his loving Niece Gail Erb Bradshaw Keyser (Robert T. Keyser) of Crofton, MD; Nephew Walter Laukshtein (Sylvia Laukshtein) of Milbridge ME; Niece Joanne Laukshtein Pulz (Gary Pulz) of Atlantic City, NJ; Nephew Randy Laukshtein (Deidre Heindl Laukshtein) of Ft. Myers, FL; Niece Teresa Johnson Erb of New Egypt, NJ and many Grand Nieces, Grand Nephews and Cousins. Bob, the youngest of four siblings and the last of the Lewis family, was predeceased by his sister Margaret Jean Lewis Erb of Toms River NJ; bother-in-law Charles Otto Erb of Toms River NJ ; sister Miriam Joan Lewis Laukshtein of Ft. Myers, FL; brother-in-law Walter Laukshtein of Ft. Myers FL; brother Arthur Thomas Lewis III of Whiting, NJ ; sister-in-law Anne B. Hinkle Lewis of Middlebury VT; nephew Bruce Laukshtein of Hernando FL; nephew Charles Arthur Erb of New Egypt NJ. Burial will take place on October 23, 2021 at the Ocean County Park Memorial Cemetery in Toms River, NJ.
