Obituary of Lisa M. Frey

Lisa Marie Frey, 48, of Toms River passed away peacefully on Friday, August 13, 2021, surrounded by her loving family after a courageous battle with cancer. She was born in Newark, NJ, grew up in Kearny, and most recently resided in Toms River with her husband. Lisa worked as a stylist and manager of South Street Salon in Manasquan for many years. Her love for others led her to pursue a career at Centra State Hospital where she cared for every patient she met as if they were family. Lisa loved the beach, antiquing, but most of all spending time with all of the children in her life, her family, and friends. She is predeceased by her mother Patricia “Sunshinee” Mulligan. Lisa is survived by her loving husband of 8 years, James Frey; step-daughter Rachel Frey and her children: Leila Izaguirre, Leah Izaguirre, and Mason Izaguirre; step-father, Reverend Harley Mulligan; sisters, Patricia “Tricia” Anne Reo and her husband Joseph, and Laura Christine Riewerts; brother, Caillou Mulligan; nephews, Joseph Luigi Reo, and Nathan Scott Riewerts; nieces, Mia Soleil Reo, Savannah Rose Marie Reo, Gabby Lynn Riewerts, and Emily Margaret-Rose Riewerts. Lisa took one moment at a time with grace and she relied on her faith in God to help her see the good in everything. Lisa leaves behind a legacy of love, compassion, and empathy. She realized early on that, “every day is a gift.” We love you. You will be missed until we unite again. Services will remain private.
