Obituary of Diny Greenhall

Diny Greenhall, 86, who resided in Toms River for most of her life, passed away peacefully on Sunday, April 3, 2022 at Harrogate, surrounded by her loving family. Diny was born and raised in Rotterdam, The Netherlands, until about the age of 12, when her family immigrated to the United States. She graduated High School in North Jersey and then attended William Paterson University where she received her Bachelor’s degree. She completed her education at Montclair State University where she received her Master’s degree in Education. Diny enjoyed a career as a teacher/guidance counselor for over 40 years with the Toms River School system before retiring in 2004.
Diny was very active in the community volunteering for local hospitals and participating in several clubs and organizations including Contact of Ocean County, Peace Corps in Africa, Book Clubs, Mahjong Clubs, Habitat for Humanity, and Meals on Wheels.
Diny was an avid traveler. She enjoyed spending quality time with her family and good friends. One of her favorite pastimes involved playing different types of games with her family and friends.
Diny is predeceased by her parents, Adam and Harriett Minnes, brother Edward, sister Alice and daughter-in-law Kate Greenhall.
Diny is survived by two sons, Jack Greenhall and Scott Greenhall (Deb Sylvia); one daughter, Lulu Johnson (Craig); 8 grandchildren, Adam Greenhall (Amelia), Kimberly Storch (Christopher), Matthew Greenhall, Beckett Johnson (Jenny), Jennifer Greenhall, Caleb Johnson, Julie Weber (Royce), and Samuel Johnson: and two great-grandchildren Emily Rae Storch and Jay Beckett Johnson Jr. Diny is also survived by several cousins, nieces and nephews.
A memorial service will be held on Saturday, April 9, 2022 from 2 – 4 pm at Kedz Funeral Home, 1123 Hooper Ave., Toms River. 732-349-1234
