Obituary of Calvin Stoeckel

Calvin Stoeckel of Whiting, NJ, passed away at the age of 98 on August 3, 2023. Born in Irvington, NJ, Mr. Stoeckel lived in Linden, NJ, for over 40 years; Toms River, NJ, for 18 years; and Whiting, NJ, for 15 years. He worked as a salesman until his retirement. Calvin was the son of the late Edmond and Anna (Post) Stoeckel. Mr. Stoeckel was predeceased by his wife, Evelyn Stoeckel (Hahnemann), of 64 years, his siblings and their spouses, Edmond (Edna), Lawrence (Olive), Mathilda (Fred), Eleanor (Otto), Thelma (Alex), Olive (Leo), Joan (Arthur) and his wife’s siblings Edward and Virginia. He is survived by many nieces and nephews. Upon graduating from Irvington H.S., Calvin proudly served in the U.S. Navy from 1943-1946 as a Radarman. He will be buried next to his wife at the Ocean County Memorial Park, Toms River, NJ.
