Obituary of Robert J. Wombough

Robert 'Bob' Wombough, Jr, 53 of Toms River, passed away Saturday, July 19, 2014. Bob worked as a technician for Allied Fire and Safety Equipment Co., of Neptune for the past 27 years. He was very active with Democratic Party of Toms River and Ocean County. His wife Claire sold Avon products and Bob accompanied her on deliveries and was soon known as the Avon Man. Bob had a love for racing and raced cars at the Wall Stadium for many years. He was a member of the Salvation Army support group for Sandy victims of Ortley Beach. Bob was born in Neptune and grew up in Wall Township. He lived in Lakewood for 10 years before moving to Toms River 13 years ago. He is survived by his wife of 12 years Claire; parents, Robert, Sr. and Virginia; brother Dennis and his wife Catherine; and many nieces and nephews. Visitation will be held Friday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 pm at Kedz Funeral Home, 1123 Hooper Ave., Toms River. Funeral services will be held 9:30 am Saturday at the Funeral Home. The family requests that in lieu of flowers, donations be made to the St. Vincent de Paul Society of Visitation Catholic Church, 730 Lynnwood Ave, Brick NJ 08723, to benefit Sandy Victims.
