Obituary of Donald William Simat

Donald William Simat, 81 of Toms River passed away Sunday, August 17, 2014. Donald worked for the US Postal Service in Kearny, NJ as an engine man, level 2 retiring in 1974. He proudly served as a corporal in the US Army during the Korean War. Born and raised in New York City, he lived in Bayonne before moving to Toms River in 1974. He was deceased by his beloved wife Margarette Moros Simat in 2000. He is survived by two daughters, Rhonda Simat-Sharkey and her husband William, Donna Simat DeShazo Bassi; 4 Grandchildren, Ursula Sharkey, Raquel Sharkey, Bowie DeShazo and Vincent Bassi. Visitation will be held Wednesday from 2 to 4 & 7 to 9 at Kedz Funeral Home, 1123 Hooper Ave., Toms River. Funeral services will be offered 9:00am Thursday at the funeral home.
