Esther Thomas, 100, of Beachwood, passed away peacefully at home surrounded by her family on Thursday, Feb. 5, 2015 which marked over a century for her. Born June 8, 1914 in Massachusetts, she spent her early years in Chicago. Always strong, she was a true patriot, sending both a husband and son to war. She even built the planes to carried them. In fact, building the Boeing B17's and B29's is where she met her husband Frederick B. Thomas.
Never one to rest, Esther worked as a cook, seamstress and even a machine operator. She was a hero of the Asbury fire of '69', alerting others before making her own escape. She finally retired from Teledyne of milling and sheeting in 1997. She was predeceased by her husband Frederick Thomas .
Esther is remembered by her only son, Frederick, Jr., and her daughter in law Nova; 3 grandchildren along with 5 great grandchildren.
