Obituary of Cornelius Romano

Cornelius Romano, 85 of Toms River , passed away Tuesday, August 31, 2010 at the Van Dyke Hospice Center, Toms River . He was a Union City Fireman for 25 years, retiring in 1983. He served in the United States Army Air Corp. during World War II with the 100th bomber group and was a member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars. Born and raised in Hoboken NJ he lived in Union City before moving to Toms River in 1974. Surviving are his devoted wife of 62 years, Antoinette; his sons, Joseph Romano of Manahawkin, Frank Romano of Garfield ; his daughter, Jacqualyn Brennan of Toms River ; 12 grandchildren and 2 great grandchildren; and his brother Frank Romano of Howell , NJ Visitation will be held Friday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 pm at the Kedz Funeral Home, 1123 Hooper Ave. , Toms River . Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated 11:00 am Saturday at St. Joseph ’s Catholic Church.
