Deborah "Debbie" Werrell Bowman, 58 of Whiting, NJ, passed away on Friday, Sept. 11, 2015, only three weeks after being diagnosed with brain cancer. She was a fighter until the end, and finally passed peacefully surrounded by her family. A celebration of Debbie's life will be held Saturday, September 19, 2015 at the Shark River Hills Fire Co., 200 Brighton Ave., Shark River Hills, (Neptune), from 3 to 6 pm. Family and friends are welcome.
Debbie, beloved wife and mother, worked with her husband as an officer in the family business. She was born in Newark and grew up in Kearny. She lived in Tinton Falls, moving to Whiting 5 years ago. Debbie never knew a stranger, making friends wherever she went. Her smile would light up a room and she was often the life of the party.
Debbie was predeceased by her mother Mary Sarrecchia. She is survived by her husband Robert; two sons, Charlie Bowman and wife Kaitlyn, and Sean Docherty; two daughters, Jennifer Danielian and husband Dan, Shannon Docherty and husband Damian; 5 grandchildren, Heather, Jessie and Adam Danielian, and Kyle and Wyatt Kromm; her Pop, Anthony Sarrecchia; three brothers, Edward Werrell and wife Kathryn, David Werrell and wife Mary, Anthony Sarrecchia, Jr. and wife Jo; and two sisters, Dianne Farrelly and husband Ben, Denise Batton and husband Lyle.
One of Debbie's grandchildren has juvenile diabetes and she was involved in fundraising campaigns and walks for the Juvenile Diabetes Research Fund. She was highly allergic to flowers, and so in lieu of flowers, donations in her memory would be greatly appreciated to either JDRF, 26 Broadway, 14th Floor, New York, NY 10004 in the name of her grandson Kyle Kromm, or to the American Cancer Society, 2310 Route 34, Suite 1D, Manasquan, NJ 08736. Kedz Funeral Home, Toms River is handling arrangements.
