Obituary of Eleanor L. Shumaker

Eleanor Louise Shumaker, 92, passed away at home in Toms River on Friday, December 4, 2015. Eleanor was born in Lakehurst, NJ and attended Lakewood High School. She was a Navy wife for 22 years traveling with her husband, Navy Cmdr. Paul Shumaker to Florida, Italy, New Hampshire, Rhode Island, Pennsylvania, Virginia and New Jersey. She worked as an budget analyst for both the Navy and Army, retiring in 1978. She was predeceased by her husband Cmdr. Paul C. Shumaker in 1980 and a son Mark L. Shumaker in 2014. She is survived by three children, Gary Shumaker of Toms River, NJ, Randall Shumaker of Winter Springs, FL, and Erica Brown of Jacksonville, FL. Eleanor also has four grandsons, Peter, Jeremy, Scott and Erik Shumaker, as well as four great grandsons and a great granddaughter. Visitation will be held Saturday from 10:00 to 11:00 am at the Kedz Funeral Home, 1123 Hooper Ave., Toms River. Funeral services will be offered at 11:00 am followed by burial at the Lakehurst Roadside Cemetery, Route 37, Manchester Township.
