Obituary of Thomas Robert Gleason

Thomas Robert Gleason, Sr., 72 of Whiting, formerly of Lakewood, NJ, passed away Tuesday, January 17, 2017. Thomas was a construction project manager with K. Hovnanian Homes prior to retiring. He was a member of the Foresters of America Club in Lakewood for many years. Thomas was a proud US Army veteran. Born in Queens, New York, he lived in Brooklyn. He traveled the country while in the Army and finally settled in Lakewood before retiring to Whiting. Thomas was predeceased by four brothers, Vincent, Dennis, Jack and Joseph Gleason. Thomas is survived by his wife Cynthia; four sons, Thomas R. Gleason, Jr. and his wife Lisa, Daniel Gleason, Robert and Stewart Finley; three daughters Michelle Gleason, Cathy Finley, Tracey Mazur; 23 grandchildren; 2 great grandchildren. A memorial gathering will be held at Kedz Funeral Home, 1123 Hooper Ave., Toms River on Thursday from 10:00 am to 12:00 pm with a prayer service offered at 12:00. Interment of cremains will follow with Military Honors at the Pleasant Grove Cemetery, 120 East Pleasant Grove Road, Jackson, NJ, 08527. Everyone is invited to join the family for a repast at the Foresters of America, 700 Route 70, Lakewood, NJ 08701 following the cemetery service.
