Obituary of Alfons A. Angel

Alfons A. Angel, 81, Toms River, died peacefully at home Tuesday, December 30th, surrounded by family. Born in Dudweiler, Germany, he moved to the United States in 1958, living in Delaware before moving to Connecticut. He worked as a scientific glassblower for Perkin Elmer, retiring in 1995 after 35 years.
He was predeceased by his wife of 46 years, Kaete Richter Angel; parents Johann and Martha Bouillon Angel; and brother Norbert Angel.
Surviving are his daughter Birgit O'Connell and her husband John of Toms River; and grandchildren Kaete, Kristin, Alicia, and Patrick O'Connell. Also surviving are his sister Rita Reinert and her husband Harold; brother Otto Angel and his wife Gaby; sister-in-law Elfie Angel; and nieces and nephews in Germany.
Visitation will be held at Kedz Funeral Home, 1123 Hooper Ave, Toms River, Saturday, January 3rd from 6 to 8 p.m., with a prayer service at 7:30 p.m. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Al's memory to the Alzheimer's Association, www.alz.org.
